🧡 💚 A message for families in the flood disaster 🧡 💚

In the wake of the flood devastation that is still occurring on parts of Australia’s east coast – on top of bushfires and the pandemic – many families are REALLY struggling. Many have lost everything. In the Northern Rivers there was already a housing crisis and now there are many more people who have been displaced.  In this video, Maggie speaks to parents about what they can do when even the basics of survival are challenged – when they themselves are feeling anxious and traumatised. How can they best support their children and themselves to come through this?

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

To those of you who can help… if you wish to donate funds directly supporting families and communities to rebuild below are some suggestions.

Please note Maggie has no affiliation with these funds (although she has donated to It Takes A Town in the 2017 flood):

Community group It Takes A Town are taking donations to replace essential household and school items so families in Murwillumbah and surrounding villages and towns in Tweed Shire (where Maggie used to live) can return home ASAP. Details here.

The Koori Mail Bundjalung Community Flood Relief Appeal is helping Aboriginal communities in Lismore and surrounding areas.
