Words from the school:
Nature Play is an integral part of a Waldorf Steiner Education and as such we have many opportunities for outdoor play here at West Coast Steiner School in Nollamara. We believe in
educating the whole being of each child in head, heart, and hands.
The children are allowed plenty of free time to experience nature (and science). They move earth with wheelbarrows, build cubbies, make mud pies, swing from trees and engage in many other activities that allow them to experience how things work in the world. Playgrounds, as well as classrooms, develop both spatial and sensory experiences, risk-taking and cooperation are experienced.
Children experience the wonder of nature and the seasons through our vegetable gardens and picking mulberries or bananas.
