This creative visualisation has been created for students aged 6-15, to improve their school achievement by improving attitude and creating a positive internal representation of their potential.

The track can be listened to in the classroom or at home and it needs to be repeated often in the initial weeks in order to re-imprint the unconscious mind with thoughts and beliefs of success.

My Best Report Ever is especially valuable for low achievers who have a negative attitude to school or particular learning areas, however through repeated use it can also create improvement for any student without the need for extra work or tuition. The ideal time to use this visualisation is last thing at night, as it will also assist with sleep as well as building emotional wellbeing and balance.

Many students use this through high school and even into the tertiary years as it allows them to create a positive focus for their mind rather than a worried one that fears failure.

Maggie Dent:

Hello and welcome to My Best Report Ever. This creative visualisation, when practised, will give you permission to create the very best, score report you have ever achieved. You will create more positive beliefs, and a much more positive vision of your ability at school.

And now to begin. Take three long, slow deep breaths inward through your nose and outward through your mouth. Then, take one more deep breath inward and if you can, hold it for a few seconds, before you breathe out. As you breathe out from this deep breath, begin to feel the body relaxing. Give permission for your feet and your legs, and your back, and your shoulders to relax.

As you continue to breathe in and out gently, allow your head to become quieter and more relaxed. Allow thoughts to just flow in and flow out. Don't hold them. Allow your mind to become quieter, while still focusing your attention on the words I am saying.

And now I'd like you to imagine that you are either sitting or lying in a place in nature, where you feel safe and comfortable. This may be a familiar place for you, or it may be a place that you need to create now. Now that you are feeling really relaxed and comfortable, I want you to imagine that we can release and let go of negative thoughts and feelings that are hidden inside your body, that hold you back from reaching your full potential at school.

I want you to choose a colour that can represent this negative energy. Choose a colour that you don't really like. Browns, greys, and even black can work. When you've chosen the colour, I want you to imagine that it spread throughout your body. We're going to let that go. I want you to take a couple of nice deep outward breaths, rather than inward breaths and imagine breathing out all of that negative colour, which holds all of your negative feelings about school and about your ability to perform well, and to achieve well. Go on. Take three big outward breaths and let go of all this negative energy.

I now want you to choose a positive colour that you like. This colour will represent positive feelings and positive thoughts, about your ability to achieve well at school. When you've chosen that colour, we're going to get you to imagine breathing that colour in and filling up all the spaces that were previously filled up with a negative energy. Take three big breaths inward, and give yourself permission to bring this positive colour inside your body and inside your mind.

And now, I'm going to give you some positive thoughts or beliefs that you can lock away, either inside of your heart, or inside your head, that you now choose to become part of your new belief system. The first belief that I'd like you to lock away is that I am totally lovable and capable, exactly as I am. The second belief to lock away in your heart or your mind, is that every day in every way, I get better and better. The third belief that I'd like you to lock away is one that simply says, "I will achieve my very report ever, at the end of this semester."

And now, I need you to do some more imagining that you are already at the end of your semester, that you are going home with your report card, to show mom and dad or your family. Imagine first opening your report card, just with yourself present. I want you to look through the grades that you have achieved with the rankings. I want you to see numbers or letter that represent the very best grades that you have every achieved, subject after subject.

Feel the rush of excitement and happiness that will flood into your body as you see these grades very clearly on your report card. Not only have you got the best grades you've ever see, you have got positive comments written by teachers, about what a good student you've been, how enjoyable you are to have in classes, whatever it is that you want to hear others recognise within you, is written in your report card. Carefully, read this report card, which is the very best one you have every achieved.

With a very excited heart and a big smile on your face, I want you now to imagine that you're taking your report card into your family. I want you to hand it to them. I want you to watch them read it. I want you to see the smile on their face, the sense of pride. I want you to see them really excited, and really happy with what you have achieved. Let this moment be really special, full of an incredible sense of success and joy, that you have created with your endeavours, and your beliefs. Hold this positive moment, as strongly as you can in your body, and enjoy it.

After your celebratory moment with your family, I want you to go and take your report into your bedroom and I want you to put it somewhere special, somewhere you can see it, somewhere you can be reminded of it, just for a while, to enjoy this moment of success. Now that you have a new positive vision, and a new belief system, you can create the best report ever, ever semester.

It is now time to return from this imaginary world, the imaginary world that can feel real. Take a couple of nice deep breaths, bring back with you that sense of feeling competent, capable and successful. Take an even bigger third breath and wriggle fingers and toes. Bring yourself completely back into the present moment, and into the real world, while still holding on, to that magical dream within your mind and your body. When you are ready, allow your eyes to open and come back with a smile on your face.
