A few words from the Marion Council about this playground…

Jervois Street Reserve in South Plympton is a regional playground and was opened in August 2016 with additional butterfly shades added in June 2018. The reserve offers something for people of all ages with a fenced junior playground, senior playground, fitness equipment, bike tracks, basketball/netball facilities, a toilet and picnic facilities.

The junior playground is fully fenced with a sandpit with bucket and pulley and water play all under the beautiful shade of a butterfly. Kids love exploring the apple tunnel and climbing the log steps to the mound slide. Another beautiful butterfly shade shelters the swings.

Discover “Jervie” our caterpillar sculpted by Geoff Bromilow a local wood artist. Rachel Dempsey won our competition to name him and we’re sure he only eats leaves…actually he probably eats apples too as there seems to be a large hole in the one here!
