SUMMARY:Mothering Our Boys (Busselton\, WA) November 2025
DESCRIPTION:Mothers of sons are worried about raising their boys in a world where negative images of masculinity are front and centre of our media\, almost every day. Also\, statistically our boys are still struggling in many ways. Even though we live in a time where we recognise nothing in gender is fixed\, it remains a fact that the influence of a mother on her son is massive. \nIn this seminar\, one of Australia’s favourite parenting authors Maggie Dent explores the power of parenting our precious boys in a warm\, firm\, fair and fun way from birth to adulthood. A mother of four sons herself\, Maggie draws on research and personal experience – and over four decades work as a teacher\, counsellor and now author and speaker – to help build understanding\, empathy and compassion for our boys. \nDespite the name of this seminar it’s useful for all parents (mums and dads)\, carers and educators of boys birth to late teens\, to help build a better understanding of the importance of cooperative intimate relationships. \nIn her light-hearted way\, Maggie offers insights and practical tips for understanding our boys and ensuring they will grow up to become respectful\, responsible and loving good men. \nTickets: $40 \n\nTime: 6.30pm – 8.30pm (doors open at 5.45pm) WA time. \n\nPlease book online via trybooking here \nDownload printable event flyer: here \nPlease note this event is general admission (so you can sit wherever you like) and babes in arms are welcome at Maggie’s seminars. This event is not suitable for toddlers and older children. \nIf the event sells out\, a waiting list will open on the ticketing page. If you add your name to the wait list\, we will notify everyone on that list via email if an extra ticket allocation becomes available.

SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Help Me Help My Teen (Sydney\, NSW)
DESCRIPTION:EVENT CANCELLED – Sorry folks! This event has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We will advise when a new event is scheduled for 2026. Apologies for any inconvenience. Ticket holders have been refunded via Try Booking.  \n  \nHelp Me Help My Teen \nThis 2-hour event\, based on Maggie’s latest and final parenting book\, is a reassuring\, practical guide for parents\, carers and educators to help teenagers navigate adolescence and grow into confident\, capable adults. \nAdolescence has always been a time of huge transformation\, but today’s teens deal with challenges that parents may never have imagined. \nAn increasingly digital world filled with social media\, gaming and harmful content\, along with changing cultural norms\, has intensified the pressure to excel and ‘fit in’ – leading to heightened levels of stress\, anxiety and depression. \nMaggie will provide clear and compassionate ‘what to do’ advice for some of the most difficult\, sensitive topics – such as technology use\, sex\, drugs and alcohol\, dropped school grades\, school refusal\, mental health and identity – and shows us how we can provide a safe and supportive environment for all our teens. \nTickets: $40 \nVenue: Abbotsleigh School \nAddress:1666 Pacific Highway (Cnr Ada Avenue) Wahroonga NSW 2076 \n\nTime: 1pm – 3pm (Doors open at 12.15pm for a 1pm start) \nPrintable event flyer: download here \n\nPlease book online via trybooking here \nNOTE: Sensitive topics are discussed. Teens aged 13+ may attend with their parents / carers. All attendees require a valid ticket. \n**This event is general admission (so you can sit wherever you like). Babes in arms are welcome at Maggie’s seminars. This event is not suitable for toddlers and older children.
